Introduction

The importance of payment of utility bills through the Internet is being emphasised by efficient and reliable systems and the trend is predicted to accelerate in the new millennium. Electronic billing and payment with an easy to use point and click system can go a long way in providing a novel service to the millions of utility consumers in Pakistan. Realising this importance and the growth of the Internet and what can be done via the Internet, Millennium Software has come up with a product called UMINTS for payment of electricity, telephone and gas bills over the Internet through your bank or financial institution.

UMINTS has been designed to display the customer’s utility bills and process bill payment transactions on the Internet. The software provides the utility companies with an easy and efficient means of becoming Web-enabled and serving its customers through the Internet in a secure, flexible and user-friendly manner. UMINTS operates in conjunction with the utility company’s existing database and the bank’s existing host application and does not replace or modify them in any way.
